This is a promotional opportunity open only to classified employees with permeant status with the Louisiana Department of Health, Medical Vendor Administration (MVA).
Note: Chosen applicant may have to serve a detail to special duty before filling the position permanently.
Experience must have been gained by determining initial eligibility and ongoing case management for Medicaid programs for individuals in the Long Term Care program who are institutionalized either in a facility or a home and community based setting. This may also include individuals engaged in research and analysis, professional relations and/or compliance functions for Medicaid Long-Term Care Programs. Applicants must list specific programs and/or units in which they are or have been employed. Applicants should specify the program, position, and duties assigned as it relates to eligibility determination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level experience in long-term care eligibility programs.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.
Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree will substitute for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

Differs from Medicaid LTC Supervisor by the absence of direct supervisory responsibilities.
EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.
Reviews a random sampling of cases for completion and accuracy to ensure that quality and program integrity are maintained.
Performs special studies, analyzes data, compiles reports, and completes projects as determined by administration. Researches, analyzes and compiles data for various reports.
Analyzes available federal performance data and makes comparisons to program performance to make recommendations for improvement to share through meetings or trainings.
Acts as liaison with the fiscal intermediary and Medicaid Eligibility Systems section in order to address recipient and provider service and payment discrepancies.
Researches and analyzes provider billing practices via complex system reports and/or on site visits and recommends sanctions in accordance with state and federal regulations. Receives reports and reconciles recipient eligibility and vendor payment eligibility segments.
Receives and handles inquiries from recipients and providers contacting the LTC Contact Center.
Conducts ongoing programmatic reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Consults with Information Technology staff to assure policy is correctly reflected by system programming.
