Medical Assistant (MA) - Full-Time

Cosmetic Laser Dermatology, a subsidiary of West Dermatology, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to assist the physicians and/or practitioners, in a clinical and surgical operational setting in a fast-paced practice. This candidate must be committed to executing exceptional customer service with excellent listening, oral and written communication skills. We are looking for an individual who is a team player as well as able to function independently. This individual must be professional, tactful, mature, and able to interact well with diverse personalities. The ideal candidate for this position will possess strong problem-solving skills along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Time management skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information are also critical to this position. Finally, this position requires an individual with sales experience and the ability to upsell with confidence.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Certified Medical Assistant or LVN - 2+ years' experience preferred
• Cosmetic Dermatology experience preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulatory issues pertaining to group practice
• Computer literate with proficient Microsoft Office skills
• Experience operating basic office equipment such as a phone, fax, copier, printer etc.
• Must be flexible to work varying schedule as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for patient flow.
• Review daily clinical and surgical schedule and be able to anticipate appropriately
• Ensure exemplary patient care and patient service is provided at all times.
• Decontaminates all equipment, instruments and supplies and cleans room as directed in procedure.
• Ensure exam rooms and clinic are clean at all times
• Assist and anticipate the needs of the providers in clinical and surgical settings.
• Document clinical and surgical chart notes appropriately and accurately.
• Assist in all aspects of a clinical and surgical environment
• Ability to phone triage in a timely and appropriate manor
• Increase physician and/or provider’s overall patient retention.
• Sales: Responsible for generating new sales and maintaining current client base.
• Assists with events and seminars both in office and offsite venues
• Other Duties: Complete projects and performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by management.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to work with very minimal supervision in a normal medical and office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc., and be able to lift 25 - 50 pounds.
