Medical Assistant (Beaumont- may schedule multi-location within 15 mile radius)

Seeking experienced medical assistant and/or medical receptionist with 1+ years front office experience, familiar with medical professional etiquette and conduct. Bilingual is a very strong plus. Busy medical optometry office needs immediate assistance with front desk patient check-in, registering and setting appointments, phones, scanning, copying and insurance verification (medical and vision plans). Candidates should be very familiar with understanding medical insurance including which cards display coverage for PPO vs HMO, and how to obtain medical authorizations from participating HMO medical groups. Candidates should also be proficient in submitting specialist referrals and in receiving/understanding how to assist pharmacist inquiries regarding medication prescriptions and refills. Employees will be cross-trained to learn how to dispense prescription eyeglasses, how to fit patients and place orders for prescription eyeglasses, and how to conduct back office examination testing such as visual acuity, eye pressure and retina photos.

Good candidates must be articulate, reliable, prompt and professional with a cheerful attitude and strong work ethic. Must be available to be work between 8:30-6 M-F and 1-2 Saturdays per month 9-2 as needed.

Must have reliable transportation. Excellent attendance and punctuality is required for this position. Employees are usually expected to rotate between 2-3 primary locations. All of our offices are within a 15 mile radius of Beaumont (including Redlands Heights, San Jacinto, Moreno Valley and Calimesa).
