We're looking for someone to join our team as a Medical Records Supervisor who:
In conjunction with the Medical Records Manager (MRM), The Medical Records Supervisor is responsible for successfully assisting with managing the organizational and administrative operations of the Medical Records Department. The Medical Records Supervisor supports CSV culture transformation to improve health outcomes, improve the patient experience, and reduce wastes. This position support in the development of medical records strategies including maximization and use of technologies, processes, and staff. As well as ongoing quality monitoring and implementation of continual performance improvement processes. The Medical Records Supervisor actively supports and participates in quality improvement to ensure efficiency, accuracy and facilitate patience access to care.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Helps Maintain sufficiently trained staff to adequately fulfill the requirements of the department.
- Maintains a sensitive, fair, and impartial approach in all employee interactions.
- Monitor’s standards of performance among all employees
- Improves department employee performance through ongoing counseling, coaching, delegation, and feedback practices.
- Maintaining specific and necessary controls to ensure confidentiality of patient medical records. Strictly adheres to HIPAA policies and performs or supervising the duties of the HIPAA Officer.
- Monitors, distributes, and handles incoming and outgoing faxes

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Health Care Organization or medical records department. Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years progressive referral / health care management experience, ideally including frontline management of some support functions.
- Previous medical records experience at a supervisor level.
- Financial and budget management, organization planning, and performance management experience.
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to develop and present information to drive decision and action
- Strong staff development skills including training, coaching, and counseling
- Excellent writing, verbal, and analytical communications skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.
