Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Tech Qualifications

• The Medical Technologist/MT will provide accurate and timely laboratory information based on the performance of analytical tests on human body substances.
• Must be able to correlate and interpret test data.
• Ability to monitor quality assurance and maintains laboratory instrumentation including all documentation.
• Follows established guidelines and protocols to provide requested clinical information to Physicians, nurses, and other relevant health care personnel.
• Maintains current knowledge in present area of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs)
• May be scheduled as needed to including overtime

Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Tech Requirements:

• 2-year Associates Degree in Allied Health (required)
• 4-year bachelor’s degree in Natural Science or related field (preferred); In lieu of a bachelor’s degree; an associate degree and a minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable
• 0–1-year Ability to perform in one or more laboratory departments as a clinical laboratory scientist (preferred)
• ASCP, AMT, NCA, AAB certifications or other agency approved by the state of Georgia (preferred)
