Position Summary:

Additional Information:

Under the direction of the Clinical Nursing Director and/or Manager, the Supervisor has direct authority for daily operations of the unit/department. Responsibilities of this position include activities such as hiring, staff development, performance management and evaluation, disciplinary actions, and scheduling. The Supervisor manages and evaluates aspects of care processes, including staff resources, productivity, patient safety, and care quality. Will work variable shifts, as needed to complete responsibilities and meet the needs of the patient care unit. This position will assist in identification of goals and has shared responsibility with the Manager and Director for process improvements on the unit/department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associate degree in area of professional expertise.
  • Two years of experience in area of professional expertise
  • Licensure as required per federal, state, or local regulation.
  • Specialty certification in area of expertis
  • Familiarity and compliance with internal policies on employment relationships.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles.
  • Knowledge of specialized equipment in practice area.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in area of professional expertise.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Knowledgeable about customer service tools and principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and other disciplines, patients, family members, physicians, general public, and external agencies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in problem solving techniques and is solution oriented.
  • Skilled in resolving conflict situations including interpersonal, intra/interdepartmental.
  • Ability to be collaborative with others.
  • Knowledge of health care systems and principles of continuum of care, utilization and resource management issues.
  • Skilled in analyzing data and ability to use data to make data based decisions.
  • Familiarity with computer, fax, printer, copier, and phone equipment, and word and data processing software (ex. Microsoft Office).

  • Quality audits

  • Including, assists with capital budget developoment and purchases
  • If a Surgical Technologist, role Performs the Surgical Technolgoist role as needed.
