Job Summary: The MFIP Case Aide is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the MFIP Case Managers and families that are receiving Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP). This individual will work on a team that is charged with helping individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency. The MFIP Case Aide will also work closely with the Employment Developer to co-facilitate career readiness workshops and find high quality jobs for Participants. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude and a passion for helping others identify and achieve their goals. This position will work at both of CAPI’s locations,

SCHEDULE: This position works during normal business hours which may include some evening and/or weekend hours.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance to MFIP Case Managers and participants who are in need of resources/services both within CAPI and with external organizations to enhance both the quality of MFIP Case Management services and the achievement of program outcomes (childcare, transportation, training, social and family support services).
- Provide program administrative assistance to MFIP Case Managers that are consistent with MFIP policies and procedures.
- The MFIP Case Aide will organize files in accordance with file retention policies. Ensure Workforce One case notes are up to date and input required data into digital databases, including Workforce One and Client Track in an accurate and timely manner for all participants.
- Assist Minnesota Opportunity Corps members/staff in facilitating job clubs.
- Assist in connecting MFIP participants to job clubs to ensure persons have the skills needed to be competitive in the job market (i.e. resume development, interviewing skills, etc.).
- Abide by Hennepin County MFIP, DHS and related privacy laws, rules and regulations and understand the need to maintain client confidentiality.
- Support CAPI’s agency-wide Civic Engagement values and initiatives and incorporate civic engagement into routine case management work.
- Participate in voter registration and pledge drives, educational/outreach initiatives, and GOTV activities.
- Some degree of face-to-face meetings with participants is required for this position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma/GED required; minimum one year of administrative and employment counseling experience preferred; and customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to produce high quality work, with attention to detail and consistent follow through.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations preferred; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to proficiently speak/write/read/understand English required; bilingual communication skills preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with CAPI’s clients, staff, and management.
- Ability to balance competing priorities, shift focus quickly, and adhere to deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; ability to proficiently learn various databases needed to perform role.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid MN Drivers’ License, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet CAPI’s driving record requirements
