Crown Staffing is currently seeking experienced Mill Operators to fill an opening with an automotive company located in Troy, OH. The ideal candidates should be able to work a 8-10/hr shift and have previous mill operating experience.

Requirements of the Mill Operator

• HS Diploma or GED is required
• Technical aptitude
• Ability to operate butt welding machines and hand held torch
• Use and read precision measuring equipment (i.e. micrometers, vernier calipers, tape measure and feeler gauges)
• Ability to install the proper bearing block spacers, work coil, cutting head, di-depmpler and impeder rod required during change-overs
• Required to thread strip through the Mill safely
• Must understand ID, OD and Wall Thickness of coils being processed
• Forklift certification – must pass Faurecia evaluation, a license / certificate from another company will not be accepted
• Valid driver's license
• Job involves lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, exerts 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exerts 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Requires pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, walking, gripping and bending
• High mental and visual effort required
• Ability to work in industrial environment (noise, heat, etc.)
• Able and willing to work overtime when required – up to 12 hours a day / 7 days a week
• Ability to work in proximity of high frequency welder and/or seam annealer.

Responsibilities of the Mill Operator

• Gauge coil to ensure accuracy based on acceptable tolerances
• Set up tooling based on tooling charts
• Make adjustments to tooling and weld box to maintain quality of tubing
• Perform detailed (final gauge, hand held gauges, etc) dimensional inspection when necessary to determine quality of product
• Track and record daily line downtime and scrap
• Self-inspect parts visually for obvious defects or specified by work instructions (ID/OD scarfing)
• Validate tube length to ensure accuracy using daily schedule and as specified by work instructions
• Keep count of completed product on each run
• Pack parts into designated container in line labeling and/or packing instruction
• Band and remove scarfing from final product
• Check all safety controls for proper operation at start of shift or as designated
• Perform routine Maintenance and rebuild / upkeep on tools and equipment's as required and or necessary
• Other duties as requested
