Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for a Mobile Equipment Operator I. Pay is $17.00 to $24.63 per hour.

Job Description:

  • Read pick tickets to determine style, color, and quantity.
  • Pick orders quickly and accurately
  • Verify product in warehouse location matches item on pick ticket.
  • Fold and pack product neatly.
  • Move empty boxes to appropriate location.
  • Ship orders using computer, if required.
  • Place packing slip in box.
  • Tape up boxes and palletize material that need shipping.
  • Assist customers in Customer Pickup (CPU) with their boxes, if required.
  • Load outbound freight on the truck via forklift.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move boxes to storage locations.
  • Ensure inbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
  • Safely operate electric pallet jack and forklift while moving pallets.
  • If operating machinery, inspect and maintain equipment daily and perform preventative maintenance when necessary.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and complies with OSHA standards.
  • Assist in inventory and cycle counting, when necessary. (May require working weekends.)
  • Meet minimum production and accuracy requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment.

Role and Responsibilities:

Operate:
Water truck, dump truck, backhoe, flatbed, excavator, forklift where needed know, manage, and handle bulk material for production needs

Calculate amount of material needed at all sand/rock bins in order to accurately order the correct amount of
material.

Ability to operate locomotive switch engine.

Work Environment :
The work environment is not climate controlled and is subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for long hours, climb to elevated surfaces, work in hot climates, lift up to 50lbs, ability to sit, kneel,
bend, lay unassisted (to perform vehicle inspections/ maintenance)
Use to wearing earplugs and other PPE – such as a hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves and safety glasses as
required.

Required Education and Experience :

  • Safety operations course by EHS TPG
  • 1-5 years industrial heavy equipment operator experience
  • osha-10, operator certification



Preferred Skills:

Hand and foot coordination:
You must coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to guide very large machinery in tight places.

Operation Monitoring: You'll have to read gauges, dials, and other indicators, and adjust them as necessary.
Interpersonal skills and teamwork: You must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers on
busy construction sites.

Troubleshooting: Anyone operating heavy equipment should be able to detect and fix operating problems.

Critical thinking: Your job will require that you identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems in order to choose the one that is most likely to be successful and cost-effective.

Preventative maintenance: know and understand all vehicle specific lubrication points, and fluid capacities for PM and pre-inspection purposes.
