MRO Inventory Control Clerk Job at The Neil Jones Food Company
Summary: Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Parts Room inventory; enters requisitions and follows through from quote to receipt. Reconciles materials and parts received, including reconciliation of discrepancies. Documents parts room inventory transactions to ensure compliance with acceptable standards. Assists in stocking parts, organizing and performing routine inventory cycle counts. Assists with AMMS (Advanced Maintenance Management System) work orders as directed by supervisor. Assist mechanics with maintenance work order kits as they become available. Responsible for maintaining an accurate database in both PeopleSoft and AMMS. This is a non-exempt position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receives, inspects and distributes or places into inventory incoming materials and parts, ensuring that quality and accuracy are met by following MRO Receiving SOP.
- Follows up on requisition and PO status with the Purchasing Department; provides requesting manager status of requisition.
- Prepares purchase requisitions and other documents for purchasing.
- Assists with reconciling shipping/receiving documents with voucher requisitions to ensure accurate information.
- Assists with functions related to optimizing inventory levels to maintain department service and efficiency while minimizing excess stock.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma; Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field preferred; or, any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- 2 years’ related experience in receiving, inventory control, and/or purchasing, preferably in a food manufacturing environment; or, any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management concepts and best practices; inventory control, work order, and/or performance maintenance systems; and financial and operational implications of inventory accuracy.
- Requires intermediate to excellent Excel skills and excellent written and oral communication skills; bilingual preferred (English and Spanish).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and work extended hours and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.
Compensation:
The wage range is $18.38 - $22.98, based on experience and qualifications.
