Position Summary

The Neuroscience Navigator is under the direction of the Neuroscience Institute Director. The Neuroscience Navigator assists patients by navigating them through the programs, support groups, classes, physician visits, physician referrals and surgical procedures affiliated with spine and neurologic conditions; including but not limited to Parkinson’s disease & essential tremor. Job responsibilities include ensuring patients are educated and prepared for all spine and neurological services. The Neuroscience Navigator promotes a positive team environment and maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including co-workers, physicians, physician offices, patients, families, surgeons, support group facilitators and others.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Ability to deliver the Simply Better MemorialCare Experience in every interaction with patients, patients’ family members, vendors, physicians, and employees.

2. Ability to provide strong patient-focused engagement via in-person, phone, email, and Zoom interactions.

3. Ability to provide effective communication, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.

4. Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, physicians, physician offices, patients, families, surgeons, support group facilitators and others.

5. Ability to interact with others in a positive, considerate, courteous and constructive manner, demonstrating empathetic, helpful behavior and maintaining composer at all times.

6. Ability to utilize computer applications such as Epic, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

7. Possess a basic understanding of insurance authorization process for seamless patient experience.

8. Ability to be at work and be on time.

9. Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and directives.

10. Ability to interact in a positive and constructive manner.

11. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $24.95/hr - $36.19/hr

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Five years of Customer Service experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Proficient in Word, Excel and department specific software
  • Basic knowledge of spine and neurologic conditions preferred
  • Prior work experience in medical setting (preferred)

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
