Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Orthopedic Surgery Macomb Days Contingent Job at Henry Ford Health
- Provides emergent, inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff.
- Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Performs nursing functions independently.
- Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.
- Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
- Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urology.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must be a Masters prepared Registered Nurse who has graduated and taken the board certification within their chosen specialty -OR- Requires a Bachelor's Degree; Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program; Licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Must have no encumbering circumstances, which would prevent credentialing by the Henry Ford Medical board. Requires licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse; and be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan.
- BCLS Certification required. ACLS Certification required in some departments as appropriate.
- Requires certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
