Overview:
M Health Fairview Health Services is seeking Nursing Station Technician (NST) at UMMC-East Bank! This position is 0.4 FTE ( 32 hours per two weeks), 8 hour shifts on the EVENING/NIGHT shift with an every other weekend rotation.

This position is not eligible for full benefits, however we do have other open positions that qualify for:

The University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) represents an integrated academic health care system. Responsibilities/Job Description:
The NST is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. The NST assists the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining rooms, reordering, and stocking supplies. In addition, the NST will maintain unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants needs to acquire the certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.

Or

  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program

Or

  • Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech
NOTE: Individuals who have completed a Nursing Assistant program and are scheduled to take the NA Registry exam will be granted 90 days post hire to become active on the registry.
