Job Description:
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- This position has the flexibility for 40 hours per week.
- Position is based on-location at a contracted industry site in South Portland.
- Develop relationships with Industry Site employees, bringing a ‘personal health care provider’ approach to the facility.
- Interview process will involve on-site visit with members of the Workplace Health team.
- Shifts are Monday through Friday, 7a-3p. Two weekend shifts are required per month, 7a-3p. Two evening shifts are required per month, 12p-8p. These required shift schedules allow for flexibility with regular scheduled hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dynamic position with varied job duties, including triage and providing nursing care & case management for occupational injuries and illnesses, medical surveillance examinations, travel health, and general health education & coaching
- Handles insurance paperwork, manage workers’ compensation and disability claims.
- Ensures compliance with applicable workplace safety laws and regulations.
- Participates in the development and implementation of health, safety and wellness programs.
- Provides employee counseling and referrals for occupational injuries and illnesses as well as substance abuse, domestic violence, and other health-related matters.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion
- At least one year of nursing experience, occupational health experience preferred
- ED, Express Care, Care Management, or on-site experience is a plus
- The ability to prioritize and the flexibility to change gears quickly
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in an autonomous environment.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and a high level of engagement in job duties
