Occupational Therapy Assistant Job at Samuel Staffing
Our healthcare facility is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team!
The COTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide patient-centered care and develop treatment plans to help patients overcome physical, mental, and emotional challenges that affect their daily activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities and limitations.
- Help to develop personalized treatment plans that include exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment to help patients reach their goals.
- Implement treatment plans and work directly with patients to monitor their progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Document patient progress and treatment plans in accordance with facility standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and speech therapists, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
- Educate patients and their families on strategies for managing their conditions and maximizing their independence.
- Stay up-to-date with new techniques, technologies, and research related to occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current license to practice as an OTA in Maryland.
