OluKai Sr. Manager DTC Merchant
OluKai, a rapidly expanding brand that draws inspiration from island culture and lifestyle, is actively seeking a highly motivated Sr. Manager Direct To Consumer Merchant to join our DTC Buying Department. You will lead the buying strategy for Ecommerce and Retail for US, CA & International. You will directly manage a DTC Buyer & Assistant Buyer to ensure job responsibilities and priorities are aligned with business objectives. The Sr. DTC Merchant will work cross-functionally with senior leaders across Planning, Operations, Product, Sales, and Marketing to analyze inventory and sales trends across business units, understand market needs, lead in-season business management, oversee market prep, and define product assortment and sales strategies. This position reports to the Director of Ecommerce.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute the DTC planning and buying strategy for ecommerce (US, CA, International) and owned retail to monetize product opportunities through market moments and trends, owning the entire DTC product strategy.
- Fully understand daily, weekly, and seasonal business opportunities and challenges by stock to sales ratio, open-to-buy position, and on-hand inventory to inform and recommend action steps
- Lead cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Planning, and Operations to ensure proper communication of DTC inventory risks and opportunities and collaborate on related strategies to maximize business opportunities
- Set and manage KPIs around SKU profitability and inventory turn in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Project sales in-season and drive open-to-buy adjustments, recommending orders, and increasing/decreasing inventory as appropriate
- Oversee the ECOM/Retail buying and planning department, directly managing a DTC Buyer and Assistant Buyer and defining future department growth
- Responsible for overseeing bulk inventory management and cross-department communication of trends, variances, and cancellations
- Manage bottom’s-up seasonal buys, referencing selling history, prior season orders, stock to sales, SKU profitability, and current business trends
- Monitor overstock position, communicate with marketing, operations, and planning on risks, and make as-needed decisions for outlet distribution
- Oversee retail and outlet product assortments
- Provide strategic input for the multi-year category plan
- Establish merchandising point of view and line plan assortments, identifying gaps and opportunities and oversee line plan creation from the DTC side (briefs, feedback, final adoption)
- Provide regular reports on in-season selling trends and weekly/monthly variance to plan by category/style, in addition to seasonal recaps communicated across departments
- Provide an informed point of view on seasonal and future market trends and the growth opportunities for OluKai
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Creative, and Performance Marketing to drive demand through compelling digital ad content
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in buying, planning & merchandising
- 3-5 years of experience working in Direct-To-Consumer/Ecommerce environments
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Preference for experience with Full Circle
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to implement and learn new systems and process quickly
- Adaptability in a fast paced dynamic business environment, works with a sense of urgency
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and other data analysis tools
- Attention to detail, highly analytical, passion for the numbers
- Experience with retail allocation software is a plus
- Effective presentation of information and strong verbal & written communication skills
- Goal-oriented, with high standards of honesty, ethics, and personal accountability
- Awareness of market trends and consumer tastes
- Prefer knowledge of lifestyle/footwear market

- The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus, salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position
