We have an opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our Delavan, WI team. You will lead and supervise the team responsible for assembly, machining and molding to support production within the Delavan Site. This role represents a strong developmental path into larger leadership roles in the future, including Plant Manager.
You will:
- Recommend and implement changes regarding production capability, tooling, machine replacement and staffing to support production plans and cost-effective procedures, systems, tooling, equipment, etc., to continually improve manufacturing productivity.
- Create and drive strategic improvement activities across the Value Streams utilizing the daily improvement Gemba process triggers and paretoes.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.
- Work as a change agent and drives out waste in the manufacturing operation through the deployment of Lean methodology.
- Lead kaizen events supporting the value stream strategy deployment plan owned by the Value Stream Manager.
- Engage the employees to support root cause and countermeasures regarding safety, quality, delivery, and cost working closely with the support departments.
- Provide support of Value Stream employees in the respective work areas which includes assignment of work, managing employee performance issues, improving productivity, and maintaining staffing levels.
- Perform near miss and accident investigations. Communicate hazards to others to prevent repeat incidents and raise the issue with maintenance or management.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus five years related experience in manufacturing.
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
- Ideal candidate has a cross-functional manufacturing background (production, materials, planning, engineering, etc.)
- The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
