TITLE: Package Design Engineer
LOCATION: Georgetown, Kentucky
INDUSTRY: Manufacturing

Summary: The Package Designer will be responsible for the design of expandable and returnable containers for a variety of products, including: automotive parts, electronics, chemicals, food, beverage, and general consumer goods. The Package Designer will also perform quality checks of First Piece Production runs as well as ISTA Testing.

Key Responsibilities of the Package Design Engineer:

• Design and Development (70%)
• Work with customers, Design/Engineering, Marketing, Management Sales, and other departments to determine packaging requirements for customers.
• Generate design specifications.
• Make prototypes for review and testing of products.
• Research and acquire new materials to use on projects.
• Perform clerical duties such as design folder reviews and SWI templates.
• Production Support (15%)
• Work with Production to check First Piece inspections for approvals.
• Order materials for prototypes.
• Work with Production on items to ensure material can be manufactured in the plant.
• Customer Relations (10%)
• Work with customers on Kaisan and Cost Improvement activities.
• Develop and enrich customer relationships through dinners and other events/activities.
• Testing (5%)
• Perform ISTA and other product testing.
• Complete all ISTA forms and submit for approval.

Key Requirements of the Package Design Engineer:

• Education - BS Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Packaging preferred OR relevant industry experience
• Years of experience - 0-3 years
• Skills required – Artios 3D Design, Corrugated packaging

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

• ArtiosCAD or similar 3D design software: 1 year (Required)
