Job Title: Packaging Team Leader

Salary Range: $19.28-$22.50/hr

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Packaging Team Leader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for helping to oversee the packaging process, improving efficiency, and ensuring quality standards are met, while also acting as a Lean Champion for the packaging department. The Packaging Team Leader will supervise and train team members, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and work closely with other departments to meet production goals. This position is hourly.

Responsibilities:

• Assist area supervisor direct and maintain SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) requirements/goals in department
• Train and coach team members on Lean principles, processes, and tools
• Help develop and implement Lean methodologies to optimize packaging processes and increase efficiency
• Work to implement ongoing continuous improvement and quality activities (including 5S, FIFI, waste reduction & standard work) in assigned area
• Monitor and maintain quality standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and visual aids
• Collaborate with other departments to eliminate and follow-up on NCP’s
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe work environment
• Coordinate and assist cross training and job rotation schedule as needed.
• Submit shop orders to supervisor for any machine repairs.
• Manage and execute assigned duties within packaging department, including any floor job within the packaging department, as needed.
• Must be able to work any schedule as assigned to assist with training, productivity, cover vacations, etc.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Lean-focused culture
• Ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience in Lean methodologies and tools, including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Continuous Improvement to drive continuous improvement in the packaging process
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and coach team members
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Microsoft AX, preferred
• Knowledge of scheduling systems or willing to learn.

• Must be able to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift and move up to 45 pounds
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to drive a forklift safely
