Position

The Partnerships and Grants Manager will report to and collaborate closely with the Chairman of the Board, Executive Director, Operations Manager and Program Director to create a systematic and process-driven approach to partner outreach, relationship management and new funding sources.

Responsibilities

1. Identify and source partnership opportunities through staffing and board conversations, community outreach, cold calls, inbound lead follow up and client visits.

2. Research partners, identify key players and generate interest in Star-C programming.

3. Collaborate with Chairman of the Board, Executive Director, Operations Manager and Program Director to align our internal goals and programming with new and existing partnerships.

4. Assist with MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) negotiation and facilitate partnership MOU’s in accordance with Star-C’s contract guidelines and policies. Ensure MOU’s include information sharing for data metrics

5. Forecast, measure, and report the results of partnership projects, including data metrics, lead sharing and event partnerships.

6. Develop best practices and deliver best-in-class experience to our new and current partners with hands-on relationship management. Must represent Star-C brand with integrity by attending designated events.

7. Assist in social media and public relations strategy.

8. Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and other grant-making organizations. This includes consolidating materials and information in a timely and efficient manner, serving as the head writer creating, editing, and persuasively articulating both new and existing content.

a. Determine funding priorities.

b. Develop compelling materials to support meetings and pitches with prospective funding sources, leveraging existing content and preparing custom talking points and slides.

c. Gather, monitor, and update statistics required by various funding sources from Operations Manager.

d. Gather information necessary for budget grant submissions.

e. Follow up on submitted applications and proposals.

f. Develop and manage system for tracking grant expenditures and receivables.

g. Identify, procure, and manage contractor services, when needed to execute grant (e.g. Eviction Relief Program)

9. Research new funding opportunities by performing prospect research on individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government entities at local, state, and national platforms.

10. Create and cultivate a portfolio of current and new grant-makers including gift donations and grants from individual donors, special events, corporate sponsors, foundations and government entities.

11. Maintain current records of grant-making organizations in donor development database, including grant tracking and reporting along with physical copy of submissions.

12. Manage budget, reporting and compliance timelines through the lifecycle of the grant or contract by developing, maintaining, and ensuring best practice grants management procedures are in place and consistently followed, including but not limited to due diligence procedures.

Strategy

1. Develop and launch a new, year-around engagement plan for corporate and community partners through activities such as volunteer opportunities, leadership programming, engagement at key Star-C events

2. Oversee community-based, third-party fundraising activity by identifying the most significant community partners, stewarding relationships, and soliciting recurring and new investments.

3. Provide Star-C Select with a growing list of partners that can provide services in affordable housing, financial literacy, food security, adult and child education, health and wellness.

4. Establish a high-value volunteer management engagement program that creates meaningful experiences and deepens individual connection with the Star-C mission.

Engagement

1. Develop, manage, and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for corporate gifts and grants, including proposals and negotiation of grant agreements.

2. Build relationships with corporate prospects to determine interest and giving potential and secure gifts and sponsorships.

3. Arrange, conduct and coordinate cultivation, stewardship and recognition activities such as on-site signage, recognition in publications and on-site visits for corporate and community donors

4. Oversee Star-C signature events (i.e. Golf Tournaments, Silent Auctions, Annual Ball)

5. Maintain accuracy of donor tracking systems and database, document activities in contact reports, while maintaining confidentiality of donor information

6. Set goals for annual corporate fundraising, including sponsorship efforts

Qualifications

· Previous working experience as a Partnerships and Grants Manager preferred

· BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, or similar relevant field

· Experience with data collection and analysis, along with ability to make presentations and develop reports that includes data and technical information

· Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models and selecting and successfully executing innovative programs

· Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology to develop and implement program evaluation systems. Experience in meeting facilitation, and/or community relations.

· Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills

· Networking and community engagement aptitude

· Strategic thinker with focused execution

· Willing to travel occasionally

Computer Skills

Proven competencies in Microsoft Office products, including internet, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and standard office equipment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background check with state and Federal law enforcement agency required. Selected applicants must submit to a pre-employment substance abuse screening test and receive a negative result for the use of drugs and alcohol as specified in agency policies. Must submit and receive negative results for random testing of same.
