Position Summary
The Pharmacy Tech I assists the Pharmacist and other department personnel by performing assigned responsibilities to meet the needs of the pharmacy customer service base. Integrates knowledge and skills with effective patient interaction to provide useful information. The decisions and actions taken are determined in an ethical manner practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of each person. Effectively communicates with patients/families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers. All areas of practice and care delivery are provided to achieve and maintain top decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety. Follows and adheres to ARHS policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and standards of behavior; practices within the practice and scope of their license.

Always assists coworkers, patients, families, and visitors regardless of the patient assignment, so long as the assistance is in-line with their scope of practice and license.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Hiring compensation ranges from $16.00 - $23.20 / hourly. This is a non-exempt position that is benefits eligible after a 60-day waiting period. This position is eligible for shift differentials which is not included in base rate of pay.
Minimum Education

High school graduate required

Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
Experience

Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Previous experience working in retail pharmacy considered

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public, patients, family, staff, and physician and acts within the chain of command, utilizing positive verbal and non-verbal skills

Competent in filling/mixing medications in a safe and effective manner within legal limits certifications and practice policies and procedures

Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients, family, staff, and physicians
