Job Description
Draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records, and prepares and processes specimens for laboratory analysis. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Requires a high school diploma and/or certification from a nationally recognized body. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within this particular field. This position will cover all shifts depending on need and open availability.

Performs phlebotomy functions and non-technical duties in areas including the hospital laboratory, outpatient and off-site services. Responsible for the safe and accurate collection and disposition of blood samples and responsible for performing associates laboratory duties.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred with any additional training or education desirable.
Experience:
Previous experience is desirable but not required.
Venipuncture and Micropuncture experience are desirable.
Licenses/Certifications:
Phlebotomy certification, phlebotomy trained certification eligible, or appropriate on-the-job training required. BLS required.
