About The Position:
The Application Developer is responsible for implementing custom web-based applications and workflows, as well as maintaining current databases, data structures, and data imports from 3rd party sources. Forward thinking and strategic integrations between business applications is an important aspect of this position, which helps to create automation routines, better security practices, and efficiencies across the organization. The Application Developer has no supervisory responsibilities. The Application Developer will have contact with staff at all levels of the agency, with vendors and other external parties.
Qualification Requirements:
- High School Degree with 5 years application development experience required. Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years technical experience preferred.
- Prior experience with PHP, VB & ASP.Net
- Prior experience of MS SQL, Visual Studio, stored procedures, transact-SQL required.
- Must maintain and provide proof of valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing.
- Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Must meet and maintain all required trainings, certifications etc. as needed.
- Human Services industry and non-profit experience is preferred
- Understanding and prior experience with other web-based programming languages preferred.
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of individuals
- Ability to effectively train a broad range of individuals and adapt to their different learning styles
- Excellent organizational skills, and oral and written communication skills
- Possesses excellent customer service and follow-up skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with department management to understand processes and needs for development efforts, taking initiative as needed to be project lead
- Assist in the planning, research, and development of workflows, processes, and applications
- Automate processes to reduce errors, increase workforce efficiencies and standards
- Create and maintain web-based applications in PHP, ASP.Net, VB.Net, and other web-based languages
- SQL database administration including backups, restores, maintenance routines, security, and data imports
- Maintain and continue development on a data warehouse, data imports for it, business aggregation of data, and effective usability for end-users
- Works closely with the Senior Director of IT to develop plans, test technology, implement new solutions, and think creatively
- Troubleshoots databases, applications, and programming issues
- Clearly documents processes and functionality of developed applications
- Educate employees on the use of custom forms, workflows, and applications as new functionality is implemented across the agency
- Monitors new technological advances in the Information Technologies application development field through professional groups, trade publications and personal contacts and recommends the adoption of appropriate new technologies
- Participates in the efforts to advance the agency in Development and Fundraising annually
- Other duties as assigned
