WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Planning Data Analyst, you’ll be responsible for leading a series of strategic analytical initiatives designed to advance our planning solutions. Additional responsibilities will include scheduling of production lines, monitoring of the execution of the production plan and management of our inventory.
OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning Systems and Processes
- Build advanced planning solutions to enable prompt decision making and enhance business processes
- Analyze Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports for job placeholder requirements for upcoming shows.
- Enhance MRP to incorporate demand layering (customer PO/ Forecast / Inventory) and propose a process to prioritize the execution of the demand
- Enhance our planning tools with supply chain data to improve and optimize our response time (i.e. Cycle times, yield, routing)
- Look for ways to continuously improve, optimize and enhance our planning solutions, systems and processes
- Work closely with Production, Quality and Warehouse to monitor production efficiencies, identify gaps, exchange information, and resolve problems in order to promote cooperation and collaboration. Identify areas for improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve re-occurring bottlenecks and constraints to the flow of production. Monitor line/machine capacity in conjunction with ordering frequency levels.
- Partner with the Planning director, Procurement and warehouse management to develop an inventory management strategy, define and maintain product inventory optimization levels, including overall material flow
- Monitor and make recommendation for slow moving items and expiring inventory.
- Track manage and report excess inventory, working with Product Administration, Product Development and Purchasing teams to solicit ideas for inventory depletion.
- Train to backup Planning Analyst to cover times analysts are out of the office.
- Spend time with Planning Analyst in analyzing and understanding sales history and assist with determining job sizes and material safety stock levels.
- Ad-hoc Analysis
- Leverage solid Excel and modeling skills in creating and maintaining a variety of model projects
- Manage time effectively in order to meet timelines across multiple projects
- Demand Forecasting
- Work closely with functional groups to compile, analyze and maintain a volume based forecast solution
- Periodically review and manage demand forecasting at product/customer level
- Monitor booking, backlog, sales activities against the forecast, and identify problem areas, drive appropriate functional groups to correct
- Drive and report forecast accuracy metrics
- Develop new business and/or planning processes to facilitate system changes related to forecasting
- Capacity Planning
- Lead Project related to strategy, planning and execution that will support ProCaps to execute to a capacity model.
- Define the available Capacity, manned and equipment capacity, production plan and plannable capacity.
- Evaluate gaps and risk to the capacity plan and define contingency plans to mitigate
- Ensure appropriate synchronization of efforts with the Product Engineer Group
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 3-5 years or equivalent work experience
- Supply Chain experience in forecasting, planning, inventory management and manufacturing
- Self-motivated, high energy, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team player who can work collaboratively with strong ability to negotiate and influence
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
- Excellent critical thinker and effective problem solver with creative solutions
- Ability to solve complex problems in a logical and methodical fashion, balancing operational and financial requirements
- Significant experience in managing, leading business projects
- A persistent attention to details and a high level of comfort with numbers
- Strong system skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Must be willing to work overtime or on weekends, as the workload demand
