Main objectives
The Plant Controller is responsible for providing decision-making information by collecting, analyzing and reporting cost and various financial data. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, cost control and other financial related tasks. This position allows for direct interaction with management and collaboration with various functions within the organization. The role requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written, as well as the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
Areas of responsibility
- Responsible for the budget process as it relates to operations including coordinating the completion of departmental spending budgets and development of gross margins
- Prepare Financial Reporting package to include Sales/Margin analysis and Net Working Capital components (Inventory, A/R, A/P and Capex)
- Coordinate weekly flash meetings with Plant Manager(s) and other members of management team Partner effectively with operations team to develop and implement ongoing cost savings strategies, benchmarking and incorporating best in class manufacturing strategies.
- Utilize cost models to assist senior management and support pricing decisions, primarily in the sales function, in assessing the profitability of current products and new opportunities.
- Research and prepare reporting of variances and business trends and provide required explanations
- Assist in collection of Accounts Receivable as needed
- Provide support and assistance for completion of internal reporting requirements and documentation for external auditors.
- Evaluate all performance of various plant activities and ensure achievement of all goals and prepare and analyze all financial statements
- Manage and obtain approval for all requests on capital expenditures and maintain controls on all plant processes within required budget and prepare reports to summarize all business activities.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Competence profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- MBA is desirable
- 2+ Years of accounting or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in HFM and SAP a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Good team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superb follow-up skills and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work in fast-paced, ever changing environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
