Description
The Office of State Budget Director is seeking a Policy and Budget Analyst I. This position will serve as budget analysts in the Governor’s Office for Policy and Management within the Office of State Budget Director. Office of State Budget Director is responsible for providing the Governor and the Commonwealth with high quality analysis, sound advice, objective research, and management assistance in regard to the policy, budget, and economic issues facing the Commonwealth.
Policy and Budget Analyst I responsibilities will include preparation of Governor’s Recommended Budget, implementation and monitoring of budget enacted by General Assembly for assigned agencies and monitoring legislative action.

The Policy and Budget Analyst I responsibilities will include the following:
- Review and analyze biennial budget request submission including revenue, baseline expenditures, additional budget requests and capital requests.
- Assist with preparation of Governor’s Recommended Budget and the interpretation and implementation of enacted budget.
- Process requests from assigned agencies including budget modifications, capital documents and other requests.
- Monitor legislative action including regular and interim committee meetings and complete reviews of assigned bills.
- Monitor agency budget and programmatic and maintain regular contact with assigned agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience or training in Excel.
- Ability to work additional hours.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with either a bachelor's degree or a graduate degree.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Occasional trave may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
