Job Description:
Cleaners will work at the same site every day at our modular construction facility. Cleaning consists of wiping down walls, cabinetry, light fixtures, tubs, showers, and, mopping, vacuuming, and taking out construction trash. Most cleaning will be new construction, but will be responsible for keeping the entire building (including locker rooms, restrooms, kitchen, breakrooms) clean and orderly condition.
Responsibilities:
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming (Service, clean, or supply restrooms, gather and empty trash).
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snow shovels, or spread snow-melting chemicals.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware or metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, or power cleaning equipment.
- Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
- Clean chimneys, flues, and connecting pipes, using power or hand tools.
- Prepare and stage ship loose items in the appropriate mod in preparation for shipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
