Busy Urology practice seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Pre-op/PACU RN in Fairbanks, AK. We are currently seeking a per diem RN to join our dynamic team one day a week!

ABOUT THE JOB:

Fairbanks Urology is a fast-growing urology practice providing high quality outpatient surgical care to our community. The practice is team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration. We offer a fun, friendly, patient-centered atmosphere.

OUR PERFECT MATCH:

• holds an active, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Alaska
• is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, having earned an associate's degree in nursing or higher
• has a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• has a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• has prior pre-operative, surgical, and/or PACU nursing experience
• has general, clinical competency in surgical patient care
• initiates IV's, administers medications, and ensures patient comfort
• can assess, instruct, and prepare patients prior to surgery and prior to discharge
• monitors patients' vital signs and other measurements of progress to meet discharge criteria
• has the ability to act quickly and safely in the event of an emergency
• demonstrates an aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping patient flow to a minimum peri-operative stay
• exhibits specialized knowledge, skill, and abilities in the fundamentals of peri-operative nursing
• has the ability to clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instrumentation according to ANSI, AAMI, and APIC standards
• shows a strong respect for other co-workers
• demonstrates willingness to abide by the practice's protocols, as well as state and federal regulations
• projects a positive and professional image
