What you'll do:
- Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, cutting meat, or preparing sauces).
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentation.
- Follows chef and manager's instructions, communicates with and supports co-workers while being a team player.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station and the kitchen.
- Labels and stores all products following FIFO and DOH standards.
- Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant and DOH standards included but not limited to washing dishes and taking out trash.
- Exhibits the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently.
- Complies with DOH and company sanitation standards.
Training Requirements:
- Food Handling Certificate
What you've done and enjoy doing:
- Previous culinary experience preferred
- Experience as a prep and/or line cook preferred
- Passion for the company's mission, positioning, and brand
- Excellent attention to detail
- Adaptable startup mindset
- Enjoys collaborating with a team
- Team player and a "nothing too small task" mentality
- Needs to be based in the Los Angeles area
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
- Must be able to work and remain focused in an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days and evenings.
- This is a part-time 6-Month Contract role with potential to extend.
- Needs to be based in Los Angeles.
