The Turning Point Early Learning Center is currently seeking someone with a passion for serving children and sharing the love of God while being a part of a team and helping others succeed.

This position is responsible for working in assigned childhood classroom to create lesson plans, implement curriculum, communicate with parents, manage behavior and ensure the safety of all students in their care.

Lesson Planning

Anticipated Time Commitments:

Classroom: The teacher is responsible for creating lessons and implementing curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for their assigned age level. Teachers are given an hour a day to prepare lessons and materials. The teacher must implement a behavior plan that follows the guidelines set out in the Early Learning Center’s Operational Manual. The teacher must communicate effectively with parents. The teacher must create a positive and safe environment for children to learn and grow. Must be organized and prepared daily.

Participating in meetings/training: Attend meetings and trainings such as monthly staff meetings (3 hours).

Responsibilities/Duties:

The teacher is responsible for creating lessons and implementing curriculum that is developmentally appropriate for their assigned age level. Teachers will use assigned curriculum to create these lessons. Lesson plans must be turned in to the administrative staff on a biweekly basis.

Teachers will meet with director or assistant director biweekly to discuss lesson plans, classroom needs and goals.

Must be able to assess each child’s developmental needs (physical, intellectual, social, ect.)

The teacher must implement a behavior plan that follows the guidelines set out in the Early Learning Center’s Operational Policies.

The teacher must communicate effectively with parents.

The teacher must communicate effectively with administrative staff.

Ensure the safety of all students in your care.

Teacher must adhere to Licensing Requirements.

Be on time, prepared and present.

Keep a record of student attendance.

Keep a sign in and sign out sheet. Make sure whoever picks up the child has his/her driver’s license on file.

Help students with lunch, bathroom breaks, naps, diaper changes, toilet training and snack.

Complete cleaning checklist at the end of shift.

Must adhere to ELC employee handbook.

Equipment Use:

PC, printer/copier/fax, laminating machine, phone. Software: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Email, scheduling software and check in program.

Ability to keep good attitude and handle fast pace atmosphere from time to time.

Job Requirements:

Must complete a background check and fingerprinting. Must have experience working with children. Must complete 24 hours of annual training specified in the Texas State Licensing Minimum Standards.
