All Flex seeks to fill the position of Principal Process Engineer to own surface mount technology, selective solder, associated processes. An early focus for this role will be creating and executing a capital equipment strategy that increases capability and automation. This role is challenging because most components are placed onto thin flexible panels.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for creating a strategic vision for the SMT process, and executing it by selecting, purchasing and qualifying new equipment.

2. Responsible for developing and sustaining the SMT processes.

3. Responsible for educating Sales and Drafting through training and guidelines.

4. Responsible for sustaining the ESD S.20.20 system, and several agency standards, including AS9100, IPC, and Mil Specs.

5. Responsible for supporting production, assisting with equipment concerns, and daily failure analysis, correction, and prevention.

6. Responsible for process documentation and part number change requests.

7. Participates in cross-functional improvements. Meets with customers. Supports audits.

8. Controls processes. Maintains and improves process capability.

9. Responsible for mentoring and employee leadership, as assigned.

10. Occasional work in our Northfield facility may be required.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or significant relevant experience

Skilled in CAM

Design for manufacturability knowledge.

Experienced in mistake prevention methodologies such as poka-yoke.

Skilled in statistical analysis.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
