PRINT SHOP EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
SALARY: $3,845.00 to $4,687.00 Monthly (Range 70)
$750 New Hire Incentive
(One-time payment, upon completion of six-month probation)
LENGTH OF SERVICE: 12 Months Per Year

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Print Shop Equipment Operator prints and binds printed materials and maintains records and supplies. This position is also responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance and assisting in job scheduling.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Reviews and processes Web CRD job orders;
- Prepares and operates black and white copiers, color copiers, computer systems, bindery, and other related machines;
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on Print Shop equipment;
- Maintains supplies and Print Shop equipment;
- Communicates with vendors, county schools’ staff, and outside agencies;
- Assists in the resolution of technical issues related to photocopying;
- Installs printed window coverings, wall murals, vinyl banner creations, and similar print related projects;
- Delivers paper and other job supplies;
- Performs related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience in the operation and routine maintenance of print related hardware and software;
Skill in the preparation and production of print jobs, operation and maintenance of digital copiers, finish bindery, and related equipment;
Knowledge of methods and practices used in print operations, binding, and related equipment operation and repair; various print product installation;
Ability to learn to operate duplicating, paper cutting, padding, collating, and drilling machines, as well as offset press; maintain simple records; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; learn to operate Macintosh and/or PC computer systems; work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work; read at a level sufficient to read and understand job orders;
Physical Abilities include standing for extended periods, near and far visual acuity, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, fine manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, near and far visual acuity, color vision, field of vision. Environmental conditions include exposure to noise, vibrations, mechanical and chemical hazards, dust, fumes, and odors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds;
- One (1) year of full-time work experience operating high volume duplicating equipment;
- One (1) year of various print product installation;
- Possession of a high school diploma (or its equivalency) or higher or possession of a GED.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College courses and/or trade school training in graphic arts or graphic design;
- Experience in the operation of high-volume photo duplicators;
- Experience using Macintosh and/or PC computer systems and applications;
- Experience in image editing software and desktop publishing applications;
- Experience in installation of heat activated wall coverings, perforated window coverings;
- Experience using Mutoh large format printers with Flexi software;
- Experience using Web CRD or similar print order software.
