JOB SUMMARY
The Process and Procedures Specialist supports the Project, Methods and Procedures department, through developing, updating and recommendations for improvement of processes and procedures to improve the member experience and operational efficiency. Documents organization operational processes, manages standard operating procedures inventory by working with departments to identify, document and maintain standard operating procedures. Participates in projects by identifying and documenting processes, managing procedure development and updates.
LOCATION

Pay Banding Information:
Actual pay will be based on experience and qualifications, but is expected to be in the range of $55K - $81k.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) management (manage inventory and updates to SOP Library and AI solution).
- Develop and implement processes, procedures, or methods to improve efficiency and productivity for all areas of UCU
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that information is accurate and up to date
- Process management (documentation, review and identify opportunities for improvement).
- Conduct audits of current processes to identify opportunities for improvement
- Project support for process and procedure identification, documentation and improvement.
- Develop or modify procedures and protocols for new or existing programs
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Education/Certification: Business Process Improvement (BPI), Six Sigma and Project Management desired. Required Knowledge: Experience in working independently and as a team member to identify opportunities for improvement and problem solving. Skilled in process mapping documentation utilizing process management software such as Visio. Experience with technology programs utilized by the company including, Symitar, other Credit Union related core systems, internet/intranet applications and Microsoft Office products.
Experience Required: 2 years of similar or related experience. Knowledge of operational processes and procedures in credit unions/financial institutions.
Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements
If based remotely, may be required to travel up to 20% of the time to the UCU HQ in Los Angeles, so must be able to travel and move within buildings to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for extended periods daily. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular reliable, and timely attendance that aligns with the pacific time zone.
Working Conditions
If working onsite, must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. If working remotely from a home office, must be able to work in a separate, quiet area, for extended periods on a computer.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
