The Product Development Lead Coordinator for the Karma brand must have a passion for product and retail! The role will be instrumental in the exciting evolution of turning Karma into a recognized lifestyle home brand. Product development for a wide variety of product categories and materials will require knowledge of product manufacturing processes, design parameters, cost structures and safety testing protocols. Working closely with Design, Sales, Production Teams and overseas vendors will be key to being successful in this role.
We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about product as they are about the design and development process. An organized person who can work well with different types of people with varying departments and varying agendas and needs. This role requires a Product Development Coordinator who has their pulse on market trends and a keen knowledge of the end-end product life cycle.
Attention to detail, time-management and clear communication are a must for this role.

Key Responsibilities
▪ Responsible for executing product lines for seasonal Karma catalog launches, on-time and approved.
▪ Communicates with overseas vendors and agents daily for all aspects of development, including design execution, costing, timelines, approvals and safety compliance.
▪ Requests, tracks and reviews all samples and components. Presents samples during sample reviews to senior management.
▪ Inquires/understands various fabrications, materials, manufacturing techniques, the cost drivers and necessary testing requirements for new vendors, new product categories.
▪ Ensures that new vendors understand fully and comply with Vendor Compliance Manual as it relates to product development. Develops new vendors.
▪ Coordinates all phases of product and packaging approvals including lab dips, screen prints, material swatches and product samples, up through production.
▪ Cost negotiation is a critical part of the role. Manages the cost quote process.
▪ Tracks mold fees, samples fees.
▪ Coordinates safety testing with overseas counterparts throughout development to ensure all product meets safety requirements.
▪ Communicates vendor information/updates w/ cross-functional teams.
▪ Creates, revises product specs/tech packs as necessary, in collaboration with design team.
▪ Conducts market research for cost, quality and competitive landscape.
▪ Reviews quality control inspection results and production lots to ensure all meets specs and standards.
▪ Updates Monday (PLM platform) with development status on daily basis.
▪ Executes physical mock-ups as required for presentations/line reviews.
▪ Keeps organized with file management; assets, documents, swatch libraries, samples.
▪ Stays up-to-date on color, print/pattern, lifestyle and consumer market trends.

Proficien cies
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- College Degree in merchandising, product management or related field
- Min 3 years professional experience in retail and/or wholesale.
- Basic retail math a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates strong strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high energy, deadline-driven environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $29.00 per hour
