Job Description Summary

Directly oversees hourly associates and assigns resources as necessary. Supervises the organizing, scheduling, setup, and running of production activities. Regulates the allotment and distribution of materials for production. Keeps labor and material needs to match the daily production schedule. Manages the work of production associates and coordinates with heads of production support staff; shares expectations and provides guidance and training. Monitors work performance and gives feedback. Manages maintenance of production equipment. Supervises process control and quality process control.

Job Description

• Manages production associate results by picking, orienting, training, appointing, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates; articulating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
• Maintains production processes by observing process volumes; suggesting process alterations.
• Completes production processes by monitoring progress; expediting material flow and work results; solving issues.
• Enhances process workflow by eliminating stoppages; examining delays; testing new methods.
• Records production by finishing daily shift production reports; calculating yields and recoveries.
• Keeps process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and issues to next shift.
• Maintains working connection with union, where applicable, by complying with the terms of the (CBA).
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy production process environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns.
• Contributes to production process and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
• All other duties as appointed.

Required Skills and Education

• Have at least an associate’s degree; engineering degree preferred. At least 2 years of related work experience. Internship or co-op experience is acceptable.
• Familiarity and understanding of Process Control Plan, PFMEA and other standards of process control.
• Strong leadership abilities and capacity to lead manage and motivate the production team in the areas of Safety, Quality, delivery, Performance and Continuous Improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with high performance work teams.
• High level of initiative and assertiveness, along with ownership and accountability.
• Ability to analyze short and long term objectives and make good decisions.
• Ability to accommodate change in a dynamic work environment while continually managing resources and striving for excellence.
• Willingness to work across a three shift operation is required.
• Willingness to work during the weekend on a periodic basis.
• Some knowledge in lean is useful.

$33.65 - $35.58 / hr
