Metalex powered by UPG is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. Metalex is looking hire a Scheduler to join our dynamic team! Successful candidates will have ideally worked in the steel industry (but not required) and have a solid level of experience with the types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers.

Responsibilities:

• Under limited direction, analyze new and existing production orders, assigning production jobs to workstations and coordinate process operations.
• Plan schedules considering factors of capacity planning, labor, waste, and quality standards.
• Assign start date/time and end date/time for production jobs and process operations.
• Coordinate between shop floor personnel and planning departments to ensure timely completion of production jobs; trouble shoot obstacles as necessary.
• Expedite and adjust work schedules to meet customer demands.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Three (3) or more years of prior experience with production scheduling; manufacturing experience required
• Proficiency with manufacturing scheduling systems; MRP/ERP systems
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
