JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities. Other responsibilities include maximizing daily output while maintaining quality to fulfill customers’ orders while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production along with accurate record keeping as well as employee team building through consistent employee training, communication, and review.
JOB DETAILS
- Must maintain high quality yields that exceed customers’ expectations.
- Overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors, GM, Production Coordinator, and other members of Management in solving problems, while ensuring the daily manufacturing processes are operating effectively and efficiently.
- Responsible for Increasing production, capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary cost and maintaining current quality standards.
- Being responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping
- Work closely with the General Manager on overall manufacturing strategy
- Monitoring operations and trigger corrective actions
- Addressing employees’ issues and grievances
- Encouraging a trusting relationship within our teams and promoting cross-functionality between all departments
- Working with department supervisors to develop solutions for problems and improve production efficiencies.
- Identify and create best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the manufacturing operation.
- Identify and manage key process indicators (KPIs) for the manufacturing operation.
- Ensuring every position is filled before start-up of press print machines.
- Other responsibilities include promoting safety. Encouraging team to build the best team possible, and the critical ability to perform the human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling.
- Other duties and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management or 3-5 years of similar experience.
- Have manufacturing warehouse and supervisory/managerial experience.
- Show prior experience leading, coaching, and developing a team and delivering performance metrics through others.
- Demonstrate strong skills, knowledge, and capability in manufacturing principles such as OEE, Lean, and TPM
- Basic computer skills required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
PHYSICAL REQUIERMENTS
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work with ink and non-toxic chemicals every day.
- Ability to manually operate machinery.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to work under various temperatures cold/hot.
- Ability to bend, reach, stretch, kneel.
- Ability to lift 25-50lbs.
- Ability to work overtime or weekends when necessary.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment, when necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and heat.
Exposure to continuous moderate to loud noise level.
