Global Science & Technology, Inc (GST), a growing scientific and high technology company, is seeking a Programmer/Analyst to support NOAA.

This position is located at the NOAA campus in Silver Spring, MD, 3 days per week onsite and 2 days telework, or as directed by the government client.

Position Summary:

Programmer/Analyst needed to develop, maintain, and design software for the National Weather Service (NWS) Office of Observations, related to the access, processing and exploitation of environmental satellite data. Work to take place at the NOAA campus in Silver Spring, MD, 3 days per week onsite and 2 days telework, or as directed by the government client.

Primary Duties:

• Prototype, adapt, and develop software to enhance satellite data access and exploitation
• Design / plan / reengineer software systems and data handling processes
• Maintain, update, and extend workflow systems for near-real-time space-weather algorithms
• Maintain a complex, database-driven Web application
• Perform complex software configurations for satellite data access and visualization by end users
• Serve as user liaison with weather forecasters
• Serve as a science liaison with space weather scientists
• Provide user software support
• Perform documentation and coordination

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineer
• Experience with Python programming
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, some complex
• Ability to interface with science users and other programmers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Linux experience
