Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. The WRPS mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 56 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated organization engineering organization. WRPS was identified as "One of America's Safest Companies" in 2020; and was the recipient of the 2021 "Employee of the Year" by the Association of Washington Businesses.
Within the WRPS Mission Integration & Optimization organization, Strategic Programs is responsible for a variety of initiatives including the Management of several Capital Asset projects subject to the requirements of DOE-O 413.3B
This position will perform Project and Control Account Management (PM and CAM) duties for design and fabrication of one or more critical components of the overall capital project scope. This position will interface considerably with technical, engineering, and QA teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery within the contract specifications.
Responsibilities include
- Develop statements of work, manage contract deliverables and contractor performance.
- Provide strategic leadership directly impacting the delivery of assigned scope.
- Interface with all levels of the organization to navigate complex problems and execute creative solutions
- Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with DOE staff, including the Federal Project Director (FPD).
- Support development and negotiation of Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Baseline Change Requests (BCRs) and Performance Based Incentives (PBIs).
- Communicating project requirements to other WRPS organizations and integrating their efforts to achieve successful project delivery.
- Preparing for and participating in Project Peer Reviews (PPR) and External Independent Reviews (EIR).
- Delivering products within baseline cost and schedule parameters.
- Developing and maintaining schedules, estimates at completion, variance analysis and explanations.
- Developing and presenting monthly reports for multiple customers.
- Monitoring scope and implementing change management processes
Required Qualifications
Grade 21:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in project management, engineering, construction management, business management, or other related discipline
Twelve (12) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and progressively increasing experience in delivery of projects of similar size and scope
Grade 22:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in project management, engineering, construction management, business management, or other related discipline
Fifteen (15) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and progressively increasing experience in delivery of projects of similar size and scope
Desired Qualifications
* Current WRPS PM and CAM qualifications, or equivalent industry certifications
- Demonstrated ability to meet aggressive project delivery schedules.
- Demonstrated performance managing and delivering all aspects of an engineering and construction project - design, procurement (including fabrication), work package planning, construction, testing, turnover and readiness
- Demonstrated ability to manage the project baseline control process.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, interact and integrate work activities with the customer, stakeholders, and regulators.
- Strong technical experience in large scale fabrication or manufacturing
- Experience in Ion Exchange Treatment technologies
- Experience in management of complex contracts and negotiation of terms

Compensation & Benefits
Grade 21:
Hiring Range Minimum: $135,188
Hiring Range Maximum: $170,463
Grade 22:
Hiring Range Minimum: $151,700
Hiring Range Maximum: $199,600

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
