POSITION OVERVIEW

City Club Apartments portfolio is growing! We are looking for an experienced, detailed, team-orientated property accountant! This is a full-time, salaried position, scheduled Monday - Friday, and is eligible for up to a 15% annual bonus. The Property Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements for various properties. Preparation includes all journal entries, schedules and reconciliations and timely reporting of financial statements.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares financial reports and analysis on a timely and accurate basis (including monthly reporting, annual budgets, year-end working paper files, and periodic forecasts
  • Analytical review of all financial reports including preparation of detailed variance analyses
  • Prepares journal entries to ensure accurate monthly reporting of results
  • Analyzes balance sheet accounts and perform reconciliation as required
  • Ensures adherence to the system of internal control established to provide accurate financial reporting and safeguarding of assets
  • Updates monthly pre-authorized payments
  • Coordinates and execute special projects including allocation models, accounting policy changes, business process improvements and other projects as identified
  • Works with operations management to ensure meaningful managerial reporting is provided, and to identify and communicate opportunities and challenges that affect financial results
  • Monitors expenses as compared to budget, alerting Operations when needed
  • Maintains fixed assets schedules
  • Monitors cash balances and coordinate cash disbursements with Accounts Payable
  • Assists with budget setup and analysis
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Real Estate;
  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience within multi-family; or multi-site business model;
  • Working knowledge of MRI property management software; and
  • Demonstrated advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
