PTA Full Time Faculty - Instructor Job at SOUTH COLLEGE

This faculty appointment has academic, service, administrative, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. This individual demonstrates advanced competency in teaching, clinical practice, and curriculum development. In addition, we are specifically seeking an individual with a passion for orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions and previous experience in a hybrid delivery model.
This is an on-ground position located in Nashville, TN.
Minimum Requirements (no specific order)
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant or physical therapist program.
- Earned professional degree as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant.
- Licensed/registered/certified or eligible for licensure/registration/certification in the state where employed.
- Earned Bachelor’s degree or higher
- A minimum of three years of full time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice; and
- A minimum of two years of clinical practice as a CCCE and/or CI or two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, commitment to collaboration, and counseling skills.
- Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills.
- Able to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Able to meet the faculty requirements as stated in the Evaluative Criteria for the Accreditation of Physical Therapist Assistant Programs per CAPTE.
- Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior teaching experience in a physical therapist assistant/physical therapist academic program or equivalent coursework.
- Earned Master’s or Doctoral degree
- Knowledge of education, management, and adult learning theories and principles.
- Active in clinical practice, especially as applicable to special populations.
- Advanced training as demonstrated via board certification, continuing education, etc.
- Member of the American Physical Therapy Association
- Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels.
- Expertise in Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic content
