Applications are being accepted for the position of Assistant Public Defender for the Legal Services Unit in Waterbury. The Legal Services Unit is responsible for representing eligible people on direct appeal and in habeas appeals, as well as assisting the Division’s Trial Attorney’s in drafting and arguing motions, requests to charge, preserving the record for appeal, strategizing, and any other litigation support.

Desirable candidates should have at least five (5) years of experience in criminal defense appellate work and must be admitted to the Connecticut Bar.

Starting Salary: $ 89,057.86 with full State benefits.
