Job Summary
The Chatham County Public Health Department (CCPHD) seeks a positive and self-driven Communicable Disease Nurse who utilizes highly effective communication and organizational skills in a variety of settings and to a highly diverse population. The primary purpose of this position is to work in collaboration with other Communicable Disease staff to manage, monitor, identify, and follow-up all reportable communicable diseases for Chatham County residents as defined by the Communicable Disease Branch of the Department of Health and Human Service with a focus on Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. This position also serves as the back-up for the infection control program.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience. Individuals employed in a local Health Department without a B.S. Degree which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation or a Master’s in Public Health, will be required to complete the “Introduction to Principles and Practices of Public Health Nursing” course within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment in accordance with Health Services Commission Rule.

Grade 66: $56,169 - $68,860
