Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for performing food quality, food safety, and ingredient verification tasks throughout the plant. QA Technician is in charge to inspect products at different phases in their development to ensure they meet a set of consistent standards. Their duties include performing visual inspections, recording quality issues, and planning processes to decrease the instance of defects in products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs food quality, and food safety checks throughout the plant including preoperational and operational sanitation inspections.
• Verify, edit, and/or enters data including, but not limited to, HPP certifications, BOLs, incoming ingredient inspections, and pre-shipment reviews.
• Performs various lab measurements including pH, viscosity, and sugar content.
• Organizes records and files.
• Works with customers on product releases, customer notifications, and paperwork discrepancies.
• Collaborates with other departments within the plant as necessary to complete daily tasks.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
• Perform good housekeeping chores in the area.
• Ability to work weekends occasionally.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma is required, Bachelor’s Degree in microbiology, food science, chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be coachable, customer focused, and strong communicator skills.
• The ability to manage shifting priorities and manage time effectively is required.
• Excellent record-keeping and documentation skills are required. Proficiency in the MS Suite of products is required.
• Excellent communication skills to include written, verbal, good listener.
• Bilingual (Spanish and English) Highly preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
• The individual must show initiative and be a team player.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
