Description

The Role
We are looking for an experienced QA engineer to help bring revolutionary technologies into the healthcare market. You will join a collaborative, scrappy team who is working to bring a software platform from the R&D phase to launch. The ideal engineer would have solid experience with developing and implementing an automated test strategy for web applications and APIs. Though your main focus will be software testing, you will also be supporting end-to-end testing of our medical devices. If you are enthusiastic about learning how to test hardware and firmware, we are happy to teach you. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mission-driven, passionate about product quality, proactive about solving problems and enjoys learning about many different technologies.

This position is hybrid (office in Broomfield, CO or San Francisco, CA) due to the need to access hardware for testing.

Diversity and Inclusion
We're building a diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other and welcome nontraditional candidates, and people of all backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We follow all state and federal laws prohibiting discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, and other protected classes.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive software test plans and test cases, covering functional and non-functional requirements. These plans address the highest priority scenarios first and include a strategy to get to a preferred state.
  • Perform exploratory testing, execute manual and automated tests, analyze results, and work with the team to prioritize and address defects.
  • Support FDA validation and QMS (quality management system) process. Regulatory compliance must be considered at all times.
  • Assist with end-to-end testing of software and medical devices.
  • Maintain quality metrics and provide regular reports on testing progress, defect trends, and other relevant information.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the quality of products and systems.
  • Assist with supporting and troubleshooting problems discovered in the field.

Who you are

  • You are proficient with scripting and standard automation tools. Our tech stack requires knowing javascript/typescript, Python, and Linux CLI/shell scripting. On the web side, you’ll add to our Cypress integration tests. On the back-end, you’ll contribute to our PyTest suite as well as writing additional automation scripts. You should know about web security, basic DB querying, network and HTTP protocols, and good design patterns. As a bonus, we’d love it if you have any experience with testing hardware devices that use Bluetooth protocols.
  • You can build QA processes and infrastructure. As part of a small team, you’ll have a lot of autonomy in building a QA process that is “enough” but not too onerous. The eventual process should include a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline and production smoke tests. You should have a pragmatic idea of what software quality means and how to get there.
  • You communicate well. Creating a shared understanding across teams is a must. By default, you should be considering the best way to disseminate that information whether it is through JIRA tickets, TestRails cases, Confluence docs, or some other medium. As an ISO 13485-certified medical device company, thorough, audit-ready documentation that adheres to our Quality Management process is critical. Having some experience with the health tech industry is highly desirable.
  • You focus on our clinicians and patients. The quality plan should be focused on achieving business goals and supporting a great patient experience. You know what battles are worth fighting for with that vision in mind.

What you’ll get

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, and FSA with generous or 100% employer contributions
  • Fertility, parenting, and menopause support and reimbursement through Maven
  • Meaningful Stock Options
  • 401k
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off - Recharge when you need to without worrying about how much time you have left in a bank of hours.

Salary

$99,000 - $130,000 per year
