Quality Business Unit Leader Job at Axalta Coating Systems
- Lead a team responsible for maintaining the site’s Quality Performance and Management System
- Member of the site staff leadership team
- Member of the Global refinish quality team
- Measure, report and react on all site quality metrics including supplier quality, internal quality, and customer complaints.
- Set annual quality goal, build and execute programs to accomplish the goals
- Lead quality investigations via structured RCA method
- Lead and coach all site employees regarding customer stakeholder expectations
- Development of people (training) and implementation of quality programs
- Lead auditor for the site using ISO9001 and customer requirements
- Manage and lead Supplier Quality program.
- Prepare and lead the site through customer visits / audits
- Monitor site metrics and drive initiatives to improve the metrics
- Manage and lead investigations and resulting corrective actions (supplier, customer or internal concerns).
- Monitor and maintain customer quality portals
- Conduct internal quality audits
- Maintain site quality certifications including ISO9001
- Conduct site training for quality
- Manage quality databases including Salesforce.com, ETQ and SAP
- Monitor and manage distressed and at-risk inventory
- Maintain the raw material approval process (COA) with the aid of local supplier quality engineer and an off-shore team
- Communicate quality news, metrics, and milestones to the site
- Represent the site for quality at regional and global meetings
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Engineering
- Strong Root Cause Analysis Skills
- Industrial experience: Minimum 8 years industrial setting experience, half of which was focused on quality
- Experience in automotive, (supply) industry
- Experience in coatings beneficial
- Quality training such as Six Sigma.
- Must have demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of quality tools including FMEA, 8D, 5Why, PPAP, APQP, RCA, SPC, Control Plans
- Strong computer skills
- Lean manufacturing knowledge an asset
- Must be available for some travel (~5%)
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Must have ability to drive for results and ability to influence
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and issues and meet commitments
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Leadership experience: 3 years minimum people leadership experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
