POSITION SUMMARY: Located in Palatine, IL, we are looking for candidates for 3rd shift. This position is to significantly add to the availability, involvement and effectiveness of Quality Control on the production floor. Will need to have a high teamwork attitude.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday (Must have flexibility on weekends)

3rd shift 11:00 pm – 7:00 am

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Performs in-process checks to support as necessary and verifies production.

· Audits finished goods and works in-process per prescribed requirements.

· Documents the inspection results on inspection forms and/or databases.

· Approves 1st piece inspection parts.

· Approves all incoming raw materials, performs Melt Flow analysis when required.

· Ensures that all start-up documents have been properly filled out by the appropriate personnel.

· Ensures that the correct material is being used and is properly identified.

· Collects and analyzes inspection data regarding production and processes.

· Prepares and helps present parts and data regarding production and quality issues.

· Performs dimensional checks per set parameters and requirements.

· Verifies that Mod Order and other related documents are posted at the work stations.

· Verifies line clearance has been properly performed before starting the next job.

· Assists in the training of shop floor staff (visual inspection criteria, visual aids, approve samples, PPE, and safety).

· Verifies that all product is properly labeled.

· Verifies that red containers are being used properly and non-conforming products have been properly documented and disposed.

· Monitors production defects for root cause analysis. Communicates information regarding defects type and volume to appropriate personnel.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

H.S. diploma or equivalent.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

1-year experience in Quality Control Environment.

Basic Blue print reading.

Metrology.

Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; Comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical lab procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.

Able to write legibly to keep records and to correspond.

Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group setting.

Ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Manual dexterity sufficient to use a wide variety of standard lab equipment.

Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge.
