Job Summary:

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Quality team, based in Arden Hills, Minnesota. Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for the support of all released product quality functions inclusive of ongoing continuous improvement, managing customer communication, supplier relations, manufacturing process improvements and resolving product non-conformances in manufacturing.

This position involves direct customer and supplier communication to resolve issues and complaints. The Quality Engineer will manage applicable standard operating procedures associated with manufacturing processes, raw material components and released product quality, including authoring new and revised procedures. This is a key, high-visibility role that will help support capacity, product, and process improvements within the business unit while also driving efficiencies in the Quality team to improve customer satisfaction with CPC’s products.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads and coordinates all internal and external quality related activities within assigned business unit and product lines.
  • Coordinate responses to product quality customer complaints:
    • Own assigned customer complaint cases
    • Determine appropriate action for customer complaint processing
    • Prioritize customer complaint cases and trends
    • Maintain all records and documentation of complaint investigations
    • Write complaint preliminary and final reports to be sent to the customer
    • Partner with sales/marketing team to resolve customer inquiries
  • Work with customers and CPC cross functional teams to ensure system-wide response to customer needs.
  • Provide process verification of inspection procedures, resolve measurement discrepancies, and improve correlation in measurement methods between suppliers and Receiving Inspection.
  • Collaborate with Tooling, Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Supply Chain in planning and executing new and/or refurbished tools.
  • Authors and maintains quality policies for raw material components, manufacturing processes, and customer quality complaints.
  • Ensures quality processes function effectively and meet KPI goals.
  • Functional supervision of technicians for processing of non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Active participant in Continuous Improvement and Lean projects.
  • Lead/Participate in audits including customer, supplier, and ISO certification audits.
  • Develops and improves inspection plans/methods for new or existing processes.
  • Support efforts to evaluate, manage, and improve measured Quality performance throughout CPC.
  • Keeps current in the field with internal and external education and training.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations.
  • Demonstrates support of CPC core values.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality, manufacturing, or continuation engineering roles (1 year for master’s degree).
  • Understanding of up-to-date quality theories, methods and approaches, including ISO9001:2015.
  • Ability to self-prioritize and multitask in support of engineering/manufacturing projects.
  • Experience working with data and statistical analysis software.
  • Passion for improvement and a drive for change to meet customer needs.
  • Experience with automation assembly processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with problem solving tools.
  • Excel, Microsoft, statistical Software.


Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business or equivalent field.
  • Lean Six Sigma green or black belt certified.
  • ASQ participation and Certified Quality Engineer certification.
  • Auditing experience or training certification.
  • Exposure to ISO: 9001, 13485, 14644, and 14698.
  • Experience with metal machining and/or plastic injection molding processes.
  • Experience with manufacturing facilities.
