Overview
As a growing pain management practice, we are looking to add new talent to our practice. We are currently accepting resumes from dependable Radiologic Technologists to operate C-arm for in-office procedures. They will also share in other clinical responsibilities such as charting and patient care. It is important that our staff exemplifies flexibility and teamwork between the front office and clinical staff. This is a full-time and part-time position Monday – Friday.
Position Summary
Perform radiologic examinations with the use of fluoroscopy during procedures. Follow established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure quality patient care and safety. Position will also include maintaining patient flow, patient intake, and medical charting.
Essential Functions:
To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
· Must show respect for patients and their care including maintaining a respectable
attitude during all patient interactions and enforcing proper HIPPA compliance
· Must maintain a professional and working relationship with providers and staff
· Must observe standard precautions to minimize risk of infection and ensure patient
and staff safety
· Ensure procedure room and exam rooms are properly stocked at the beginning
and end of each day
· Prepare patients for radiologic procedures to include: properly consenting the
patient, escorting patients to and from exam room/procedure room, provide verbal
instructions while assisting patients with positioning on the fluoroscopy table,
explain procedure details and expectations, observe patients during procedure to
ensure safety and comfort during procedure, and provide verbal and/or written
instructions regarding aftercare following procedures
· Efficiently and safely operate C-arm to obtain quality images as well as use of radiation safety measures and protection devices for patients and staff
· Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report malfunctions to
the practice coordinator
· Perform timely and proper sterilization of equipment via autoclave
· Perform administrative duties such as maintaining accurate records of procedures,
fluoro time, autoclave sterilization log, biannual lead checks, and anesthesia/vitals
log when pertinent.
· Prepare sharps for pickup
· Keep accurate account of supply inventory
· Serve as back-up for clinical team members as needed by controlling patient flow
via rooming and patient intake/history, obtaining and documenting necessary
vitals, obtaining post-procedure blood pressure measurements as needed, assist
with answering phones, returning messages, and maintain patient records within
EMR to include CC, HPI, Medical/Family/Surgical History, Allergies, ROS, and
Medications. May also be required to assist with appointment scheduling and
obtaining authorizations for medications/procedures as necessary.
· On non-procedure days, technologists will be expected to assist and perform the
above-mentioned duties to ensure adequate patient care and flow
· Perform all other duties as assigned
Physical/Mental Demands
· Varied activities include prolonged sitting, stooping, bending, and stretching
· The position will occasionally require heavy lifting (files, computer equipment, etc.)
of up to 45 pounds as well as assistance with patient transfer/transitioning
· Expected to maintain a professional demeanor in busy and stressful situations
· Expected to be proactive in seeking side work when regular duties are complete
Required Education
· High School Diploma
· Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program that leads to a
certificate, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree
Licensure Requirements
· Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
· State licensure for VA, WV, and MD
· CPR Certification
Required Experience / Competencies
· One year of experience within a clinic, office, hospital setting, or equivalent
preferred.
· C-arm experience
· Medical Imaging: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification
· ARRT Certification (Required)
