Role Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Management Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the authorization’s workflow. He/she maintains employee and vendor assignments to ensure authorizations are acquired timely. He/she also develops resolutions to everyday issues with the patient accounts, monitors payer trends and issues, and provides feedback to employees and vendors regarding the authorizations workflow
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitors employees time reporting and PPT requests.
  • Approves timecards for payroll.
  • Monitors staff inventories and work productivity.
  • Set up appropriate meetings with staff and other departments.
  • Compile, review, and forward appropriate month end reports.
  • Ensure/participate in staff training.
  • Provide reports to management as requested.
  • Analyze data to identify/improve authorization goals.
  • Ensure authorization worktools are worked in a timely and efficient manner, that accounts are documented appropriately, and that all avenues in the authorizations process are pursued.
  • Perform interviews and disciplinary counseling sessions.
  • Perform 90-day and yearly staff evaluations.
  • Create checks and balances to monitor other segments of the authorizations workflow.
  • Performs routine feedback sessions with the authorizations staff and vendors.
  • Review and approve adjustment requests.
  • Consistently review ways to improve the authorizations process.
  • Research and learn the different payer medical policies to ensure the authorizations process remains relevant should any changes occur with the payer’s policy.
  • Regularly follow up with the collection departments to ensure any feedback is provided regarding the authorizations process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High degree or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience with front office workflows including authorizations.
  • Understanding explanation of benefits
  • Practice Analytics
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office.
